Goal of the Business Promotion Commission: " We will promote the diversification of our economy and encourage development and activities that will attract visitors during all seasons of the year."

Background:  Georgetown's economy is dependent on three principal industries: tourism, mining activity in the area, and local government. An important fourth industry, but one that is dependent upon the other three, is servicing the residents within Georgetown. While business longevity and turnover has long been an important concern, Georgetown has generally supported a core of retail, personal service, lodging, restaurant and utility businesses. The town's tax base is largely dependent on sales tax revenue derived from these core businesses.

Please see the Visitor- Promotion website on the left side of this page for information on upcoming events and businesses in Town.
