Hydrant Flushing in Georgetown
During the month of July

The Town of Georgetown Water dept. will flush fire hydrants around town during the month of July during the hours of 8:00 am - 4:00 pm. Flushing is needed on a regular basis to flush sediment out of the lines and check the hydrants for flow requirements. The flushing of each hydrant will probably stir up rust and other materials in the water distribution lines.
The water is still safe to drink and use becuase the particles have been sitting in chlorinated pipes.
If there is brown or rusty water, you should open and run the cold water faucet until the water returns to clear.
If you have any questions, please call Ryan Zabel, Public Works Supervisor at 303-569-2555 ext. 6.
